Answers to all of your big questions

The Brad Suhr Builder team is here to answer your every building and planning question. Below are answers to just a few of the most common questions we are asked almost every day:

How long does it take to build a new home?

On average, under normal circumstances, it can take anywhere from 12 to 14 weeks to complete the construction phase of any new home project. If and when there are any delays due to weather or other unforeseen problems, we will do all we can to make up for lost time without any loss of quality or focus. We want to have you in your new home sooner rather than later.

How do you select your sub-contractors?

After more than 20 years in the building industry, we have learned how to discern between the good, the bad and the ugly in the assorted associated trades. Our core pool of sub-contractors are among the best local professionals in their fields, with each having proved themselves on project after another.

What is included in my quote?

All aspects of your project are covered in your detailed quote including: materials, stipulated allowances, sub-contractors and any necessary exclusions. Any fees beyond this, such as drafting and design are usually covered prior to the quote stage. In instances of allowances not being fully utilised or over utilised, variations will be drawn up to effect either the refund or additional cost. For further details, please refer to your Master Builders Contract.

How involved do I need to be during the council application phase?

By all rights, while we will be handling the entire process for you, you can be involved as little or as much as you see fit. At minimum, your role is simply to approve of what we are doing and to supply signatures when and where necessary. With us there, all the typical hassle and confusion, which can come hand-in-hand with this process, is a thing of the past.

Are progress meetings during the construction phase limited to once a week?

Once a week is the bare minimum of direct contact we would like to see during the construction phase – we encourage  you to meet with us as often as is needed to ensure that all aspects of the job at hand are meeting expectations and to answer any questions. The best results are achieved when we work together toward a common goal, in this case a beautiful new home, shed or deck.
